Our procedure

For sampling, you must have a prescription.

Once you have your prescription, book an appointment online or by telephone. In both cases, you'll have the opportunity to send us your prescription by photo or PDF to our e-mail address or by fax.

Once we have received your prescription, we will send you an e-mail with instructions for sampling.

Once the sample has been taken, it will be analyzed in a public or private laboratory of your choice. Your results will then be sent directly to your prescriber, the only person authorized to send you your results.

When to get tested

Our procedure

Consultation
Make an appointment with our clinician for an evaluation. She'll address your concerns and give you all the information you need.

Sampling
Then, depending on the assessment, a urine test and/or a blood sample and/or a culture will be taken.

Results
Receipt of results takes between 2 and 10 days. Whether your result is negative or positive, our clinician will contact you to send you your result in person or by telephone, depending on your consent.

Treatment
If you test positive for gonorrhea and/or chlamydia, as well as syphilis, our clinician will prescribe the appropriate treatment. If the results for HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C are positive, you will be referred to a doctor for appropriate treatment.

Our procedure

At your appointment, your ears will first be assessed by our nurse clinician. If she notices infection, discharge, blood, redness or any other abnormality, you will be referred to a doctor.

After the assessment, the nurse will wash the ears. Removal of the plug or intruder is made painless by injecting a liquid. In the event that no treatment is required, you will be billed only for the evaluation fee. A single appointment is all it takes to relieve lingering discomfort. Call us, we're here to help.

These problems can occur at any age. However, men and the elderly are more at risk, as they tend to produce more earwax. The major external factors in earwax build-up are excessive noise, wearing headphones or hearing protection, and the use of cotton swabs.
Finally, did you know that stress increases earwax?  The apocrine glands that produce earwax are of the same type as those that produce sweat. As a result of stress, earwax is a little darker and stickier, making it more prone to clogging.

For the treatment of keratoses and molluscums, you must have your medical prescription with you at the time of your appointment.

Protocol for induced oral hyperglycemia

The aim of this test is to measure the rate of change in blood sugar levels after ingesting glucose. It can be used to detect type 2 diabetes, glucose intolerance or gestational diabetes in pregnant women. Here’s how the test works:

At your appointment, an initial fasting blood sample will be taken as prescribed. You will then have 5 minutes to drink a sugar solution.

You must then wait in a room for 1 to 2 hours, depending on your prescription. We advise you to bring a book or something to keep yourself occupied, as it won't be possible to go home. We have wifi.

After waiting, we will take another blood sample and send it to the laboratory for analysis. The results will be sent directly to your doctor.
Electrocardiogram
(Delson clinic only)

We now offer an electrocardiogram service. This service is available at our Montreal (Delson) clinic AND at our Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier clinic.

Our procedure

To have an electrocardiogram, you must have your prescription.

Our staff will perform the electrocardiogram, taking care to place the electrodes on the upper body. The test will record the electrical activity of your heart at rest.

The results will be sent to a cardiologist for analysis. Your doctor will then be able to provide you with the results.
PAP Test
(With and without prescription)

Without prescription: Our nurses will carry out the assessment and pap test if required. Must not be menstruating at time of appointment.

With prescription: Make an appointment and send us a copy of your prescription by e-mail or fax. Must not be menstruating at time of appointment.

Cervical cancer is prevented by screening (pap test) and HPV vaccination, which can also be offered on the same day.
